Day 14: The Salt Flats
Sneezy gang coming back ACHOO again with another amazing
blog!! We are officially Teens Eastward Bound!! We are now on Mountain Time,
which is only two hours behind home.
We awoke this morning at 6:30 a.m., which was wayyy ahead of
schedule due to rain and some extremely loud seagulls. Then we quickly packed
our things up in Yosemite and set out for Utah! Today was a very long day due
to the extensive traveling and driving (NINE HOURS L). Huge shout out to JD!! He was
such a trooper and got us safely to our destination. Another shout out goes out
to the Dopey group for the gourmet breakfast of Little Bites and cuties this
morning.
There was a limited amount of bathroom breaks and because of
this a couple people got antsy and resorted to peeing in bottles (LOL YUCK!!!).
There were various activities going on in the bus today to keep us entertained
during this long haul. For example: some people were making bracelets, others
were sleeping, a few were catching up on journaling or writing home and several
were being snack thieves!
Though today could be described as slightly boring, we had
plenty of scenic views on our journey to Utah! Plenty of mountains, grasslands,
salt flats, and even a few tumbleweeds (which was the highlight of some of the
camper’s day!!) Many of us passed time by sleeping. One of the counselors,
Kent, has many obsessions, which consist of collecting brochures, taking
pictures of people while they sleep, and painting his toenails. He fulfills
this obsession by putting brochures on people while they are sleeping and
taking pictures of them. Today Kent went all out and “brochured” two of the
campers: Maddy H. and Toula L. Also, Kent’s toenails were painted red, white,
and blue (can you say PATRIOTISM?!!).
Tonight we are bedding down at Dow James Building in Utah.
We are all very excited and anxious because we get to open our mail tonight,
but we can’t do so until we finish the blog!! So with that being said, we’re
out!! Can’t wait to see you guys in 8 days!!
